Shenzhen Nanshan tax bureau turns to AI for tax outreach as sticker machine draws crowds

The Nanshan district tax bureau in Shenzhen brought artificial intelligence into this years tax publicity campaign, installing an AI sticker machine at a robot application exhibition centre where visitors pick a tax slogan and receive a personalised sticker within seconds. Officials say the aim is to turn tax education from passive listening into participation and sharing, lowering the learning threshold and appealing especially to younger audiences. A service booth alongside the experience zone offered guidance on value-added tax law, individual income tax settlement, support for small firms and social insurance payments.

The Nanshan district tax bureau in Shenzhen tried something new during this years tax publicity month by bringing artificial intelligence into its outreach events. It set up an experience zone at a robot exhibition centre in the Lining building, where the star attraction was an AI sticker machine: visitors pick a tax slogan they like and within seconds receive a personalised sticker combining their own image with tax-themed graphics, and many turned them into chat stickers on the spot. Officials said the point was to move tax education from passive listening to taking part and sharing, which younger audiences embraced, lowering the barrier to learning tax rules. On the other side of the venue stood a general service booth with leaflets on the value-added tax law, annual individual income tax settlement, support for small businesses and social insurance contributions, so companies and residents could get answers on the spot.
