Henan tax authorities refresh tax-fee services with smart taxpayer-agency interaction

Tax authorities in Henan are rolling out the taxpayer-agency interaction service on the e-tax bureau, where the smart robot Yueyue answers instantly and staff coach taxpayers remotely through screen sharing. In the first half of 2026 the platform handled 3.5712 million smart-service sessions and 2.3429 million staffed sessions, backed by 207 service operation centers and more than 1,000 seats. As one of China's first pilot provinces for cross-region processing, Henan handled 24,807 cross-region cases this year, ranking among the top nationwide, and also introduced online tax-dispute mediation and joint handling of pension-insurance refunds with human-resources departments.

Henan's tax authorities have moved many tax-handling tasks online. After logging into the e-tax bureau and clicking the taxpayer-agency interaction icon, taxpayers get instant answers from Yueyue, a smart robot; for complicated matters, tax officials coach them step by step through screen sharing, and staff from several departments can be pulled in to solve the issue online together. In the first half of this year the platform delivered 3.5712 million smart-service sessions and 2.3429 million staffed sessions, supported by 207 operation centers and more than 1,000 seats across the province. Cross-province handling has also become easier: tax officials in Henan and Hubei open a three-party conversation on the platform and finish the work in under half an hour. So far this year Henan has handled 24,807 cross-region cases, among the highest in the country. Disputes such as invoice anomalies can also be discussed by three parties in an online mediation room and verified within half an hour, so taxpayers no longer need to visit a tax office.
